Shipping Policies

The contracting of the services that we offer are subject to the Shipping Policies that are detailed below. This includes all purchases made through this website and any of our social networks such as Facebook, Instagram or even through the WhatsApp messaging service. These conditions complete the General Conditions that are detailed in our Legal Advice. The fact of accessing this website and using its services implies that aYou have read, understand and accept, also, without reservation, the Shipping Policies.

I. SHIPPING POLICY

At Reef Nook Corals we process and ship orders on the Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday following receipt of payment, to be delivered with signature within 24 hours. Shipments to Spain and Portugal are made through the Nacex agency (delivery before 7:00 p.m.), and we use the UPS express saver service for the rest of the territories of the European Community (France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Slovenia). At the time of shipment, the associated tracking number will be provided through the email or mobile phone provided.

Once the order leaves our facilities, it is the customer's responsibility to track the package. We are not responsible if:

  1. The package is not delivered by default.

  2. The package is not delivered due to an error or lack of information in the delivery address.

  3. The package is delivered to the wrong address or to a neighbor.

In any of these cases, we urge the client to contact the local agency for collection or to clarify the situation. Once delivered or collected, please inspect the content and contact us immediately if any item is defective and/or incorrect so that we can assess and/or correct the problem. You can find our DOA guarantee in the following sections.

Shipping costs include packaging (thermal box, glasses and/or bags, water, and heat or cold pack) as well as handling and transportation costs. The latter is subject to the rate of the transport company, and can be modified from one year to another. For this reason, Reef Nook Corals reserves the right to modify the shipping costs detailed in this section without prior notification to its customers. These expenses will appear in the last step before placing the order, and will be assigned according to the following scales:

Shipping to Spain (Only peninsula and Balearic Islands. Shipments to the Balearic Islands suppose an increase of 5.00€):​

  • Orders up to 500.00€ - 11.95€

  • Orders over 500.00€ - Free shipping

Shipping to Portugal:

  • Orders up to 500.00€ - 14.95€

  • Orders over 500.00€ - Free shipping

The shipping conditions for Business to Business orders (B2B) do not change except for the shipping cost, which will be added later in the proforma invoice.

II. PAYMENT METHODS

We accept various payment methods, being the credit card, PayPal or Apple Pay the fastest. In case of paying by bank transfer, the payment can take up to 2 business days to become effective in our account, depending on the bank, so it will take a little longer to process the order.

III. WYSIWYG

The corals you find for sale at Reef Nook Corals may be accompanied by multiple photographs. The first one will always correspond exactly to the coral you are buying, WYSIWYG ('what you see is what you get'). In corals that are grown in-house, we will always include a second photograph of the mother. This is because frags sometimes differ, to a greater or lesser extent, from coral when it develops and forms a larger colony. In this way, the customer knows exactly what they are buying and what the coral will look like once it grows in optimal conditions. In wild corals, and occasionally, we will include photos of some details that we find interesting. All our photos are taken under Ecotech Marine Radion Blue G5 or G6 lights with a blue spectrum (100% UV, 100% Violet, 100% Blue, 100% Royal Blue, 0% Red, 0% Green, 10% White) and with an orange filter, which is how we like to look at corals. For this we use an Olympus TG-6 underwater camera. In this aspect of our hobby, the debate, once again, is also served. At Reef Nook Corals we are aware that these types of photographs enhance colour, and may not be to the liking of fans looking for a more natural 'look'. This is why we encourage the client to Contact us and ask us for photos of the corals that are of interest to you under another spectrum of light, with or without a filter.

IV. DOA WARRANTY & REFUND POLICY

At Reef Nook Corals we strive so that our animals reach their new homes in the best possible way. For this purpose, the smallest frags are shipped fully submerged, individually attached to a float inside a sterile vessel. This method maximizes the chances of survival because the coral does not randomly rub against the walls of the shipping wrapper, and the risk of water leakage is virtually zero. For larger corals we use, whenever possible, the same method but the envelope consists of a double or even triple bag of water. Immediately afterwards, the coral in its wrapper is accommodated inside a polystyrene (EPS) box together with a heat or cold pack, depending on the time of year, thus ensuring as uniform a temperature as possible. As the last layer of protection, we place the thermal box inside a cardboard box. The invoice will be sent to the email provided.

If, despite these efforts, any of the animals suffers during shipment, below we detail our DOA ('death on arrival') guarantee, which must be strictly followed in order to process any eventual claim. In no case will the DOA guarantee be valued outside the terms established below, since there are too many variables beyond our control.

  1. The DOA guarantee does not apply if the shipment is delayed in delivery for reasons beyond our control.

  2. The DOA guarantee does not apply if there is a failed delivery attempt or changes in the delivery time due to the client. 

  3. The DOA guarantee only applies to online orders that have been sent through a transport agency.

  4. The DOA guarantee does not reimburse the payment made, but, if possible, replaces damaged corals and/or issues a voucher for the amount paid for damaged corals that cannot be replaced.

  5. The customer has 2 hours from the delivery with signature of the order (the delivery time will be verified with the transport company) to claim the DOA guarantee. For this, the client must send us through our email info@reefnookcorals.com o mobile phone +34 636 66 29 96, clear photographs that show the coral in its original unopened packaging in its momentary state. Once the coral is removed from the shipping packaging, this is the responsibility of the client.

  6. In case of estimating the DOA guarantee and a voucher is issued:​

  • The credit reimbursed through said voucher can only be used in live stock of this website.

  • The credit refunded through said voucher cannot be used to cover the shipping costs of a replacement or a new order.​

  • The customer has 4 months from the date of issuance of the voucher to use it.

Returns of live corals are not allowed once they have left our facilities. For orders that have not yet been shipped, the customer has 14 calendar days from receipt of payment to request a partial or full refund in case he changes his mind. As of the 14th day, we will charge 25% of the total refund as compensation for having blocked the stock in question.
